Great actor however his worst portrait
I guess every great actor will have one movie that they totally do not fit in their career. This is Alfred Molina's mistake. <

Because this was a movie and follows a screen play it does not have to be the book. However the screen play seemed a tad contrived and Molina seems to be sleepwalking through it. The real problem comes in trying to adapt it to a different era. So far every attempt to bring Christie into the modern age has met with the problem that it is the era that adds the charm and mystery to the story not the plot. <

Great Classic Mystery Acted Well
If you are a fan of Agatha Christie, you know this classic tale and will really like the modern adaptation of the novel. Alfred Molina as always does a superb job as Poirot, the chubby, belgian sleuth. A great addition to your collection if you already have the movie version from the 70's with Peter Ustinov and Lauren Bacall.

Outstanding Television Movie Mystery
I enjoyed this tv movie Murder On The Orient Express when it was broadcast in 2001...the cast was superb playing passengers who were questioned by Alfred Molina's character Hercule Poirot...Meredith Baxter is a great actress who's role was enjoyable to watch. Peter Strauss is a wonderful actor...have been a fan of his from his television miniseries "Rich Man, Poor Man"...and Leslie Caron was superb in this movie. I will be getting this DVD when its released. I enjoyed the movie with Albert Finney and this tv movie...I'm a huge Agatha Christie films fan.
