Customer Reviews of African Safari Trophy Hunter
No XP Play I'm sure it is a great game, but can't play on XP. I have tried everything to make it compatible, but only black screen after install. Wish an XP version or patch would come out. <

Good game!
I'm not a big fan of hunting games, they get kind of repetitive, but this one is an exception,, probably because it's different from typical hunting/fishing games... in this game, you don't use bait to attract the animals, you follow their tracks around... Which is a little bit more fun than sitting in one spot using deer calls...
You get to choose between hunting elephants, zebras, elands, and,, um,, some other kind of African plain animal,, forget what it's called... whichever one you pick is the only one you can shoot- If you shoot something you don't have a liscence for, you loose your liscence. (It's kind of tempting to shoot them though,, even though you'll lose the game it's still just so tempting... :)
Elephants are actually very easy to shoot- When you shoot at them, they charge at you, so then you can just continue to take shots(CAREFUL though, when they charge they try to stomp you to death!) The other animals are all fairly easy to shoot, they're just harder cause they run away quicker.
Be careful when you're out looking for prey though- several dangers await- every waterhole contains crocodiles that will swallow you whole in one bite,, lions ocassionally roam around that will attack anything they see/smell and don't like(which includes Safari Trophy Hunters...), and like I said, wild elephants will charge at you if you get to close to them or try to shoot at them(actually the smaller ones sometimes run away, but the big ones,, that's a different story....)
There are also vultures that occassionally roam around waterholes or dead animals,, and while they're very very tempting to shoot, they're an endangered species, so if you pull that trigger,, your game's over...
This game requires a lot of thinking and patience, and you might want to turn off your comp's sound and put on some music, because that hunting guide dude can get very annoying after a while
Excellent game, give me this over Deer Hunter or Trophy Bass Fishing anyday!
Exceptional hunting Sim
One of the best hunting sims you'll ever play. It will take a few attempts to figure out the game, but once you do it is a very fun a challenging game to play. The game and it's profesional hunter stresses ethics and marksmanship. The hunt isn't an automatic kill. One mishap such as a change in wind direction and the animals are off. The graphics are amoungst the best I've seen and the game are very realistic. The only thing this game could use would be additional game, particulary some more of Africa's dangerous game such as cape buffalo and lion. Graphics this good should not be limited to just four species. Hopefully in the future there will be add on's or upgraded versions coming out.
