Customer Reviews of Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers - Phoenix
Rangers move out ..... again! What to say? It's the Galaxy Rangers!! A true blast from the past!! The DVD quality is excellant and the packaging art work is very nice with each volume dedicated to one of the rangers on the front cover. The extras are typical of an 80s animated cartoon, but the sound and video are excellant. The only negative thing I have to say about the set is they are not presented with the episodes numbered. It's up to you to find the correct order. But that is only minor compared to the reliving of a childhood memory. Two thumbs way up!!
Great Fantasy
This is one of the best cartoons made in its day. The music was effective, great stories and characters. There is a lot of detail, just not in the animation.
Finally.
Why does this deserve a five? It hasn't aged well at all. The animation is clunky, the voice "acting" is questionable and many of the plot lines are hokey. But it is sensational. Why? The characters are easy to adore and get behind, the music is awesome and the whole premise is enthralling. This disc contains the pilot and first episode of the series. The theme song plays over the extended "launch" scene where the rangers enter the elevator, activate or recharge their powers, board the tram and finally launch their space craft. A great lead in that is eventually shortened in later episodes (think Voltron, G-Force, Power Rangers, etc launch sequences). Rainmaker has a bit of a hokey plot in the midst of the futuristic science fiction in the rest of the series, but it is light hearted and fun and contains an original song that is very catchy. I wish they would make a live action movie of this.
