Customer Reviews of Adobe Encore DVD 1.5
HOW DO I BURN A 2-HOUR DVD? The software seems terrific, despite the steep learning curve. BUT HOW DO I BURN A 2-HOUR DVD? I am using Adobe Preimere and Adobe Encore 1.5. I made a 73 minute video that practically took up an entire DVD. I just tried to make a video that runs 1 hour, 45 minutes, and the program tells me that I have exceeded disk capacity. Is Encore capable of burning a two-hour video onto DVD as do even cheaper programs? Or am I doing something wrong? Am I making my files two large? Can anyone help me? I would welcome any feedback or corrections. - JV - (...) <

Encore is Great even for Beginners
I found that Encore was easy to use for someone who didn't know how to author or even create DVDs or menus. It worked very well with the other Adobe applications such as Photoshop and Premiere Pro. I even was able to make some great looking DVDs with Encore (with the help of www.motionism.com dvd templates)
Needs good hardware to work as it should.
Yet again, Adobe have made available a professional product at consumer prices. The only problem is that consumer class PCs are not up to the task. Anyone using a PC for any video production is recommended to enhance their hardware by installing a couple of IDE or SATA hard drives in a RAID array, as a primary media drive, and also install another hard drive to export their DVD productions onto. A gig or two gig of good quality RAM is also recommended, as is the use of Windows XP Pro with all drives and partitions formatted as NTFS.

>In addition, be sure to frequently defrag the media drives, and delete any unneeded files, as this will also help with production quality, and avoid your drives filling up too soon :-)

>As to Encore itself, it has everything reasonably required to make sophisticated DVDs - often too sophisticated - and is compatible with other Adobe authoring applications.
