Speedier AE 6.5 with New Features!
Adobe's After Effects 6.5 (AE6.5) is even better than it's predecessor (AE 5)! Fortunately for designers like me who already use Photoshop and Illustrator, Adobe has done it again and made the integration between these programs even tighter. This closer integration means less time tweaking images either before or after you import them into AE6.5. The time saved here can be better put to use creatively! <

>A new feature of the interface itself is the ability to brighten AE6.5 workspace with new preferences. This is helpful due to the extreme variance between different types of monitors and monitor producers. <

>Additional improvements include new Selection methods. As in most graphics and video programs, the ability to selection exactly what you want is King. >For me, probably the best thing Adobe did in AE6.5 is to improve the overall performance of rendering and views. I use a 2.0Ghz Athlon 64 with 1GB of RAM. Sometimes in the past, rendering and just getting a preview was almost painful due to the amount of RAM that was being consumed. Now, with the per-item rendering and per-layer image caching, my frame views and compositions are displayed faster. I can also control the quality of the previews in the new Previews preferences panel. By reducing the quality of the preview, AE6.5 renders and displays it faster. <
