Customer Reviews of Accept: Metal Blast From The Past
Accept Rules! Living in Japan I was able to get the original Staying A Life on video. The show, which was filmed in Osaka 1985, was during the peak of their career (although the Russian Roulette tour would be great to see too!). This Dvd contains (almost) everything from that video as well as a few new song videos. If I had one complaint it would be that there were not enough interviews with the band. Maybe they don't exist but it would be great to see more home videos, interviews, etc.. Also, I think the interview with Udo in the studio from the original video was not inluded on this dvd. Anyways, this dvd is definitely worth getting if you are an accept fan! The live concert and the videos for Metal Heart and Balls To The Wall Kick Ass! Check out UDO's dvd as well.
ACCEPT ON DVD!!
I have to agree with the other reviewer because I never got a chance to see Accept live, but this DVD is a real treat for their fans in North America because who would've ever thought we'd get one by Accept? They sound absolutely killer live!! Wish this had 5.1 sound, but not complaining! Just very happy to have this by one of metal's unsung hero units! I wish they'd reunite as a quintet again!! The Wolf
Accept this!
Everything you would love to see in an Accept DVD plus more. I found the DVD very entertaining and quite humorous. If you never got to see Accept live - this is your chance! The DVD contains a live concert of the band in Japan in 1985, plus 3 live songs in 1993. It also features all of their videos. It has great collection of extra's ( all the album covers and lyrics) plus an audio "CD" side to the DVD with several demo cuts and unreleased material that any Accept fan would love to have. After I finished watching the DVD, I found that Accept is a bunch of fun loving guys with great music. Obviously if you are interested in this DVD you know Udo Dirkschneider makes the band with the love it or hate it voice, but I think Wolf Hoffman has got to be one of the greatest guitar players out there(I see he is also one hell'va photographer as well). Die hard Accept fans will love it, and any fan of 80's metal will also enjoy it as well. My only issue was the quality of the picture suffered over the years. But with today's standards any film from the 80's is going to suffer in detail. Definate must have!!
