A Must Have!
This is one excellent concert DVD! Picture and sound very good for an older concert. Widescreen format looks great. All their big songs. A must have for any AC/DC fan.
DESPITE ALL OF THE TAMPERED AND CLEANED UP PERFORMANCES, THIS IS ONE OF THE ALL-TIME GREATEST LIVE CONCERT PERFORMANCES EVER.
I will be writing a review on the legendary live DVD concert entitled "AC/DC LIVE AT DONINGTON" by one of Rock's greatest legendary bands ever. I give you one of Australia's pride and joy's, AC/DC. "LIVE AT DONINGTON" was originally released in 2003 on DVD by Epic Music Video. Please do not confuse this live DVD concert with the AC/DC 2-CD set entitled "AC/DC LIVE," these are both two different recordings. "AC/DC LIVE," like "LIVE AT DONINGTON," contains tracks that were recorded during AC/DC'S 1990-1991 World Tour that covered twenty-one countries and one hundred and fifty-three shows. "AC/DC LIVE AT DONINGTON" was recorded live at Castle Donington Park 8/17/91. As always, if I hear any new additional information concerning this legendary live DVD concert or the artist, I will edit this review immediately so that you the consumer will get the best informative and most accurate review possible.

>AC/DC will forever go down in Rock n' Roll history and be remembered for recording some of the greatest hard Rock anthems ever. Let alone that fact, AC/DC is also well known for their legendary live concert performances the world over. The original AC/DC line-up comprising of lead singer and frontman Bon Scott, lead and rhythm guitarist Angus Young, Angus' brother Malcolm Young on Rhythm guitar, bassist Cliff Williams and drummer Phil Rudd would stay together till Scott's untimely death in February 1980. Later on, original AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd would be replaced with former FIRM drummer Chris Slade. Despite the changes in band personnel, AC/DC has been continuing in entertaining the Rock world since 1974 and still counting strong. When original AC/DC lead singer and frontman Bon Scott died in February 1980, it seemed that AC/DC was at the end of the crossroads and would sadly disband. However, AC/DC would persevere and come back stronger than ever in July 1980 with a new lead singer and frontman named Brian Johnson and a new AC/DC album entitled "BACK IN BLACK." With the success of "BACK IN BLACK," Brian Johnson would lead AC/DC to and through the promised land and world of Rock n' Roll for many more years resulting in delivering some of AC/DC'S as well as Rock n' Roll's greatest live concert performances ever. By the time 1990 rolled around the corner, AC/DC would release a new album entitled "THE RAZOR'S EDGE" and would headline a new World Tour in 1990-1991 that would leave every fan speechless and partially deaf. Which bring's me to the DVD concert I'm about to review for you now. "LIVE AT DONINGTON" is without a doubt, one of the all-time greatest live DVD concert performances ever in the history of Rock n' Roll. AC/DC would headline THE MONSTERS OF ROCK FESTIVAL 1991 at Donington with fellow contemporary Rock bands METALLICA, MOTLEY CRUE, QUEENSRYCHE and THE BLACK CROWES. In my opinion, "LIVE AT DONINGTON" serves as a true testament of five extremely talented masterminded individuals that contain so much energy that it rubs off on the audience resulting in raising AC/DC'S live performances to a level unimagined. "LIVE AT DONINGTON" is also a fine fitting tribute to a great legendary band that was really truly indeed, far ahead of their time. Without further delay, it is now time for me to take you back in time to Castle Donington Park on 8/17/91 where AC/DC is about ready to take the stage and shatter your ear drums.

>It is now time to let the hard Rockin' music of AC/DC to speak for itself and back it up by doing all of the talking. This legendary live DVD concert begins with the incredible Rocker "Thunderstruck," the hard Rocking "Shoot To Thrill," the unbelievable Rockin' live version of "Back In Black," the blistering hard Rocker "Hell Ain't A Bad Place To be," the breathtaking hard Rocker "Heatseeker," the fast and energetic hard Rocker "Fire Your Guns," Angus' blistering guitar solo which would evolve into the merciless hard Rocker "Jailbreak," the slow smooth hard Rocker "The Jack," the thrashing hard Rocker "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap," the new AC/DC hard Rocker "Moneytalks," the forever AC/DC trademark hard Rocker "Hells Bells," the blasting hard Rocker "High Voltage," the fast paced non stop hard Rocker "Whole Lotta Rosie," the forever AC/DC trademark live version of "You Shook Me All Night Long," one of the rare and only moments that you ever get to hear Angus utter any words through a microphone, the amazing hard Rocker "T.N.T.," the groundbreaking fast paced hard Rocker "Let There Be Rock," the forever AC/DC trademark hard Rocker "Highway To Hell" and the exploding hard Rocker "For Those About To Rock We Salute You)." May I also add that Angus Young's blistering guitar riffs and licks are the real true stuff made of Rock legend. Angus Young's guitar playing was sizzlin' red hot and on fire while performing these song tracks live before your very eyes.

>Overall, this is one great live DVD concert performance worth seeking further research into and checking out especially if you are a hardcore diehard AC/DC fan or a devout music collector. As for all of the curious newcomers and new beginners that are not familiar with the sound and music of AC/DC, I would still buy this DVD since it is considered by many Rock critics to be one of the all-time greatest live concert performances in Rock n' Roll history. However, you would be cheating yourself out of many years of AC/DC'S studio albums. I do believe with all sincerity that eventually all of you will be owning the whole AC/DC collection soon. Believe me, you'll be glad you did. You can purchase all of AC/DC'S albums and DVD concert performances through Amazon com and Borders.

With this in mind, I guess it is safe to say that AC/DC isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
