Customer Reviews of A Dame to Kill For (Sin City, Book 2: Second Edition)
Good comic book.but not the best in sin city world. the art of A dame is awesome(like the others sin city books),but the history is... well,is not bad, but for the miller's genius is weak and a kind of cliche.there is no development on the history, and with this, the good narrative and the good dialogs losing impact and direction.this is not a comic that put you inside the history, you read and...you just read! but I think that is just what frank wants,a more simple and with no deep characters development, just a good history with charming and letal women.(the high point of the book),and thinking on it,the man do it.this is a good comic, easy to read and understand, with an INCREDIBLE art work, the art really pays the price of the book!but if you want the best in sin city, buy the first one, family values,or big fat kill. and if you want the definitive frank miller's work, buy dark knight returns, batman year one, ronin and daredevil's born again.
Raymond Chandler on steroids!!!
Frank Miller is at his best in the second story of his Sin City series. Miller further explores the dark violent and sexy world that is populated with characters that pull you in and don't let you go till the very end. If you like Raymond Chandler you will love Frank Miller's "A Dame To Kill For."(I know that's a clique, but it's true.) I can't recomend this book enough!
The strongest storyline and artwork in the series.
If you've read the original sin city but you don't no which to get next, I strongly reccommend this one. The story line centres around Dwight, a friend of Marv who actually features in this yarn (This story cleverly coincides with the first novel.)
The artwork is very slick, all stylish shadows and moody expressions.
The noir mood is consistant throughout and never gets tiring.
If you don't own this;shame on you.
