Required reading for those interested in the Pacific War. Dull's is a seminal work on the Second World War in the Pacific and the Japanese Navy in particular. It should be part of the library of any serious student of the war or the IJN and is the perfect complement to the single volume condensation of Morison's "History of United States Naval Operations in World War II" titled "The Two Ocean War."
Some of the information in this volume is a little weathered, but it remains the most complete and the most readable single volume history of the IJN.
