Customer Reviews of A+ Complete: Virtual Test Center
WITHOUT GOING TO NONPRINTABLE ADJECTIVES, THE A+ VTC (...)!! When this item was purchased it was assumed to be a simulation of the A+ exam. This would mean that the questions would be similar to what one would see on the real test. That having been said, the test (A+ Certification) has changed many times as technology has changed. It was recently revised Feb. 01. According to the official specifications for the test, Windows NT is not a test item. Why then does it continue to be mentioned in my test questions, over and over? Since when did A+ cover methods for reading resistors by color bands? Will the A+ exam really ask about configuration of Netware servers? What about remote installation of Office? I don't think so. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that the product is not what I assumed it would be, which is a simulation of the current A+ certification exam as stated in the COMPTIA standards. It has SOME stuff that's on the real test. It has some stuff that will never be on the test. Not that knowing how to configure Netware, or do remote installations of Office 2K is a bad thing, but it shouldn't be included on an A+ virtual test. If you were taking maybe an "MCSE Virtual test" maybe that would be OK. If I take a practice math test I expect MATH QUESTIONS!!!! Not "Which layer of subcutaneous fat is responsible for endothermic heat generation?" Get my point. This is a shoddy product.
GREAT LEARNING SUPPLEMENT
This is a good learning supplement to other books, e-books, or study guides you might have. It goes beyond what the A+ certification and teaches things that are good to know for the business world. You will get an education that is beyond A+ certification.

>The tests is much more difficult than the A+ exam. If you can ace these tests, as well as the material these test are covering, the A+ exam will be easy by comparison.

>There are four different 65-question tests for hardware and four different 65-question tests for the operating systems. Then there are objective tests, apaptive tests, and custom tests for both the hardware and the operating systems.

>This product has five or appx. five "extraneous" questions that would most likely never appear on any A+ exam. There's one question on electronic band color codings and four others on networking with Novell and Windows NOS. These 5 questions will never appear on the A+ test. To look on the positive side, I NEVER would have known or learned about these things if it wasn't included in the product, e.g., installing NetWare, tricks of the trade on installing Windows 2000 and adding a file to answer all questions, plus other little installation "tricks of the trade", attaching a text file to a driver file to print to a printer that is uninstalled on a computer, advanced DOS commands, etc.

>This product was an excellent study guide and learning tool to use with many questions. As long as you don't base the entire product on the ONE question on electronic color codings, the rest of the product is excellent.
