Customer Reviews of 8th World Wonder
WOW! THIS IS AWESOME!!!! First of all, let me say this, I have been a HUGE Kimberley Locke fan since the start of American Idol! With that said, I am HIGHLY recommending this c.d. single to anyone! American Idol fan or not, you will LOVE this! Kimberley has the most amazing voice, she really delivers the songs well! Here's a review of each song:
1. 8th World Wonder- this song is a hit! It has a nice catchy, pop sound to it! I love this song! Kimberley really shows her wide range on this cool song!
2. Somewhere Over The Rainbow- what an AMAZING performance! This is a nice, easy, jazzy sounding song. This version is much better than the version on "American Idol Season 2 Love Songs" c.d.!!! This song shows how her voice has grown since American Idol. Very Awesome song!
Over all, the best c.d. I've bought in a long time! (even though it is only 2 songs) I hope you all like it! It ROCKS! Kimberley, you are SOOOOO amazing!

Outstanding Debut
I love this girl's voice. She is so smooth and sooo silky. Her version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" is a real bluesy groove, and somewhat exotic, which is welcome from the usual over the top arrangements by other artists. Yes, I liked Judy Garland's version, but Kimberley infuses it with her own sexy and amazing vocal range and her contemporary styling of this song is just so FRESH which makes it very powerful. It is beautifully sung. I REALLY like the title cut "8th World Wonder" where she displays some unique vocal styling and you can understand the words she sings. Her CD "One Love" will bring a lot more of this terrific singer to the airwaves.
Great Voice, mediocre material
Kim has made a really mediocre song sound really good. Without her strong voice being right on the money every note of the song this would be a song I wouldn't listen to. I don't like the non-flowing highs "of" thunder- it wold be cool if it was just once in the song, but not every time. Also, there's a shortage of actual lyrics here, too much repetition. There's also too much gimmickry in the band. Can somebody write a song for Kim without the words "hey" and "yeah"?
