Max 3 Must Have!!!! This 2 tape series is awesome. Videos are usually the best way to learn software. But make sure you are on a workstation when you are watching or you will end up asleep (I am not trying to take anything away from the video, that's just what happens with tutorial videos).
Be careful, most people are using max 4 now. This is for Max 3.
Even if you are using max 4, they haven't made too many changes in the lighting and rendering panel.
This guy really goes through both panels thoroughly. He shows you tons of tricks and tips. Great stuff. People pay tens times more money to take a course and with a video tape you can go back and watch it again.

Definately the most comprehensive and most useful tutorial material I have ever seen. Any avid 3D Studio Maxer should get this now! I never realised how much be my lighting effects could get until I watched this video! It's a Bible!
