Customer Reviews of 20th Century Masters - The Best of the Moody Blues: The DVD Collection
No More Fries Thoroughly enjoyable. I have the Legend of a Band on VHS, so it was nice to pick up this DVD for a decent price. If you like the Moody Blues, you will like this nice, but short DVD. Most of the material is already on the Legend of a Band footage, so for the person who has everything Moody this will not excite, but to an average fan who likes the Moody Blues, this will be a delightful video to watch.
Good intro for the casual fan, but...
Well, it's great to see a compilation of Moodies videos on DVD but the real opportunity to give their fans what they've been wanting has been lost with this. Where are the much sought after videos for "Sitting at the Wheel", "Blue World", and "Say It With Love"? All the videos here are on previously released DVD's (the one exception being "Running Out of Love", which was only previously available on a fan club video). So much potential for a release like this and it was lost on a re-release of previously available material. While it may be okay for the new or casual fan, the long-time fan who knows there's more out there will be disappointed.
The Moody Blues video collection
A very enjoyable, if too short, compilation of Moody Blues music videos.
The first two, 'Your Wildest Dreams' and 'I Know You're Out There Somewhere', which offer a juxtaposition of the band's early days (young actors are playing their parts) and their present reality (1986/88), were the only ones scripted by the Moodies themselves, and 'Your Wildest Dreams' was nominated 'Video of the year' by Billboard magazine in 1986.
'The Other Side Of Life' presents a disturbing view of a surreal, nightmarish underworld, and effectively supports a brilliant song.
'No More Lies' combines clever animation with shots of the band members.
'Running Out Of Love' is an upbeat, exciting and very sexy clip from an actual concert.
I hope more Moody Blues videos make it to the DVD format in the future.
