got what I wanted
I purchased this swing on 2/28/05 in BRU after seeing it in Target as well. I had BRU gift certificate. My 6 week old baby is very colicky and I was going out of my mind rocking her in my arms every night for 4-5 hours. I don't have much room for bulky swings in my home so this idea appealed to me. The employee at BRU showed me how to fold this swing and won me over. There are two things I wish this swing had: <
>1) music/nature sounds to calm a colicky baby <
>2) mobile to entertain the baby <
>That said, I knew fully well what I was getting and chose this one over the Graco swing because I liked that it was only 15lbs and could be stored in a closet when not in use. I was a big taken back when I opened the box and realized it had to be assembled. Luckily my husband didn't mind doing it and it was set in 15 minutes. My baby is too small for the bulky toys (playpod) that came with a swing so we didn't even put it on the tray. As a matter of fact we don't even put the tray when the baby is in the swing. We just buckle her in and swing her ourselves with our feet while watching TV (saving batteries :)) <

>I forgot to say that the playpod that comes with this swing plays music. I'm sure its nice for older babies but our baby is just too small for the bulky toy in front of her at this time. So we play the CD called "The Ocean Sounds" that we bought at Barnes and Noble for $5. It's true that it soothes the fussy baby - just like mentioned in "The Happiest Baby on the Block". The advantage of the CD is that it can be put on repeat for hours, unlike the mobiles in the other swings that stop playing after 7-10 minutes (which startles the baby and wakes her up). So the lack of music in this swing itself is not a problem for us. <

Nice swing, but no safety harness here either
I'd just like to add that we bought our swing in 02/05 as well and it didn't have the safety harness either. We contacted Evenflo and they told us we would just have to return the swing because the item is so new that they don't have any parts in and they can't ship us a replacement b/c all of the swings are being shipped out to the stores. So we went back to BRU to see if we could just open one of the other boxes to get the harness out of it so we wouldn't have to take apart our swing... and that box didn't have the harness in it either. I love the idea for the swing and would love to have a 2n1... but now we have to figure something else out.

Pleased and Safe
In response to the previous reviewer - ours came with the seat belt and works fine (it was small and black and just sitting in the box not attached to anything - it is possible that you did not notice it in the packaging). It was purchased in 2/05 from babies r us - so also maybe that problem was corrected. The reason that I LOVE this swing is because it is a nice neutral pattern - no clowns or tacky patterns like all the other companies put out. You can actually leave it set up in your house full time and it is not offensive and does not make your house look like it is overrun with baby products. You can use this swing as a low to the ground "travel swing." Or as a full height standard swing. (the low to the ground method seems to bother my dog less). It also folds up so so so small! It folds up both in the travel mode (so short and thin) or in the full height mode (so long and even thinner). Perfect for storing away in a closet or behind a couch or even in the trunk of your car. Not pictured on the Internet is the infant head support - which makes a small baby fit perfectly (before they can hold their head up on their own). The only thing that I am a little confused about are the toy attachments. Our swing came with a much larger single toy "the learning pod"(not the three individual ones pictured on the Internet or on the front of the box that I bought). The box says that you can use interchangeable toys from some of Evenflo's other products - but babies r us does not seem to sell these other toys. Also, when you remove the "learning pod" the tray has some indentations that look like you should be able to fit other Evenflo products into - but BRU does not recommend any "accessories" to buy with this swing - but I am on the lookout. Also, the toys are totally not as cute as the swing pattern itself - the toys are the typical tacky plastic baby toys found on the other swings. Luckily the toys are completely removable. <

>Edited Later: Take care to READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS Carefully when putting the swing together. We put it together wrong the first time (each leg is labeled as to where on the swing it should be installed and we did not notice this at first). The swing worked fine when put together wrong - but then when we tried to fold it up we realized it did not seem as small as it should have been - we then realized we had the legs on backwards.
