Customer Reviews of 12" 2400 Watt Woofers with Ribbed Cone Insert
MOFO-12 Although the information about this sub is somewhat misleading it is quite a good sub. It has an RMS power rating of 1200 watts, and can take 1500 rms just fine. As for the previous reviewer just ignore them, as my $250 Immortal can handle 2,000 RMS and higher. $500 worth of subs can take 5,000 rms and blow your trunk off. <

>The MOFO-12 gets quite loud. I was very impressed by this sub. It was meant as a temporary replacement for damage Immortal and was almost as loud as my immortal. I plan on giving this to a friend of mine as soon as I get my immortal back.
Insufficient Data About the Product
This is not a review of the product, rather an exposure of an example of the incompetence associated w/ amazon.com and Toys 'R' Us. This product discription is a prime example of how many car audio companies will mislead even the retailers concerning their products. To begin with, there is NO 12" round subwoofer that you can purchase for under $800 or more that will handle 2000 watts or more. This subwoofer may very well handle a decent amount of power, and may sound good, but if you put a REAL 2400 watt amplifier on it, and turn it up to slightly over half volume, the only sound you will hear is your voice coil frying. The 2400 watts that this and many other car audio companies refer to is the max power handling. All subwoofers have approximately double max power handling compared to the RMS (root mean square)[average] power handing. This is done so that if the bass hits slightly harder than what the subs are designed for, it will not blow the cone out.

>Amazon.com, you should try to put all possible information about this product in the discription. Buyers will need to know the RMS that the sub handles, not the max handling. But even MORE important are the number of voice coils and the impedence of the sub. These two bits of information combined with the RMS handling will determine what amplifier the buyer should pair with this subwoofer.
